Roulette

To create a roulette wheel, find an image online of the wheel, print it, and then glue it to a large circle of cardboard. Cut a hole in the middle. Weave wire together to create grooves below each number. Use a silver salt shaker for the center, attaching the wheel to a lazy-susan turntable. Use a marble as the ball. Online, find and print images of the roulette table and gambling chips. Glue both to pieces of cardboard.

Chuck-a-luck

Purchase or make three dice. Find and print an image of the table, and then glue it to a large piece of cardboard. To make the tumbler, first cut two circles out of cardboard, each 6 inches in diameter. Cut two circles out of green felt to glue to the cardboard circles. Bend wire to form the shape of the tumbler. To do this, start out with 20 pieces of wire, each 2 feet long. Bend edges around the cardboard circles, one on each end. Wrap three 14-inch pieces of wire together to form one 14-inch piece. Wrap that piece around the entire tumbler to create an hourglass shape. To help visualize the shape of the tumbler before you bend the wire, visit the dice cage sets website reference below.

Craps

Homemade casino games
Card games are always a favourite at parties and include games such as blackjack or poker. To play card games players will need one or more decks of playing cards. The cards can either be bought or can be made using adobe illustrator or photoshop. Each card should be 2.5 by 3.5 inches, which is the exact size. The same template is used to make the back of the cards. Players can make their own brand of playing cards by personalising the back using a photo for example.

Roulette

Creating a roulette table may take a bit more time, but is definitely worth it as a casino would not be complete without a game of roulette. Players can source an image of a roulette wheel online and print it out and then place it on a circle of board. A hole is cut in the centre and to create the pockets players can weave pieces of wire together. For the centre of the wheel a salt shaker is a great idea, preferably a silver one to give it an authentic feel and placing it on a lazy susan will ensure the wheel can spin. For the roulette ball a marble can be used. Pictures of the roulette table and the chips can be found online and printed out.

Chuck-A-luck

Chuck-a-luck is another great casino game and players may know it as birdcage. This game is mostly played at carnivals and is a variant of sic bo and is also played using dice. For this game three dice are needed and these can be made in the same way as the craps dice. An image of the chuck-a-luck table can be found online and printed. For the tumbler two circles 6 inches in diameter must be cut using green felt and stuck to circles of cardboard of the same size. To make the shape wire can be used and bent. For these, 20 pieces of wire of 2 feet long is needed. The edges are bent around the circles on each end. Three 14 inch pieces of wire are then wrapped together to make a single 14 inch piece. The piece is then wrapped around the tumbler to make an hourglass shape.

5 gambling party games to make any party a winner

Homemade casino games

If youвђ™re planning a special party вђ“ it could be a birthday, anniversary, housewarming orвђ¦well, who needs an excuse to throw a party? Вђ“ then a gambling theme is always sure to be a winner. And you

With a few fun tweaks, you can create a las vegas-style casino with a difference, and incorporate cool elements thatвђ™ll have your guests in stitches (and mild discomfort, in some cases, which is hilarious for everyone else).

You don't have to visit a casino to replicate its thrills. Here are a few ideas which could help your next party be the one thatвђ™s reminisced about for years to come.

Shot roulette

Itвђ™s an oldie, but a goodie. And for adults only.

Based on the classic roulette wheel, a shot is linked to each number on the board. The player spins the wheel, and whichever number the ball lands in they have to drink the associated shot.

Itвђ™s a fun game because everybody starts to get suitably merry after a few rounds, and thereвђ™s that sense of jeopardy when a variety of drinks are used вђ“ especially ones that nobody wants to drink, e.G. Tequila on the zero or chilli vodka on number 13.

Shot roulette is an easy game for party-starters to create, too. All youвђ™ll need is a roulette wheel and ball (these are cheap enough to buy in вђ˜travel sizeвђ™), and the numbered felt upon which players traditionally place their bets.

If you donвђ™t want to ruin your game table, you can always draw a grid featuring 37 numbers (38 if youвђ™re playing in america, of course). And get ready to redraw it, as there are likely to be spillages!

Chase the ace

This is a fun card game that, whilst technically not played in a casino, still creates plenty of laughs and that edge-of-the-seat nervousness that really does make for the best party games.

The premise is simple, even if the name is something of a misnomer. Players are dealt one card only, and the idea is to not end up with the lowest value at the end of a roundвђ™s trading. You can stick if you have a high card, or trade with the person sitting to your left.

The game continues until the last person, who by now presumably has an A or another low-value card. At this point they can stick with what they have, or pick the top card of the deck. If they reveal an A they gain immunity, and any other value card becomes theirs for the round.

At this point, every player reveals their card and the lowest number is the loser. This individual could be forced to undertake a forfeit if you so wish, but all-in-all itвђ™s a fun game for kids and adults alike.

Chilli craps

Similar to shot roulette, a classic drinking game revolves around the roll of two dice, similar to a game of craps, with each combined score connected to a specific drink.

If you want to take things to the next level, there is a devilish way in which you can do just that.

Most gamers know that вђ˜snake eyesвђ™, i.E. Rolling a double one, is the worst throw in craps. So why not punish the player in the most spine-tingling way possible by making them take a bite of a raw chilli (obviously not a naga or a scotch bonnet)?

It adds a fun fear factor, and itвђ™s always nice to see your close friends in mild discomfort (or is that just me?).

Karaoke poker

Hereвђ™s a fun way to enliven lengthy games of poker. Assuming the notion that the majority of people are too shy to sing karaoke when completely sober, how about introducing a sing-song as an act of punishment to your game?

You can make somebody sing for all kinds of reasons: running out of chips is the most obvious reason, but also players on the right side of a bad bet can be made to serenade their opponents; perhaps michael jacksonвђ™s вђ˜beat itвђ™ would be an appropriate choice of tune?

The beauty of this party game is that it can be modified as you wish: if you want a high-stakes, rapid-fire game of poker, how about penalising all players who fold preflop by making them belt out a burst of dolly parton?

Choco blackjack

All of the above gambling-themed party games are oriented towards adults, of course, but there is a chance to introduce the kids to casino games in a fun way, too.

Blackjack is the perfect avenue. Not only does it help with their counting, you can also reward them with chocolate poker chips that are readily available online. You can also pay out in chocolate and sweeties for successful spins of the roulette wheel and, for the older kids, winning texas holdвђ™em hands.

Making an entrance

One of the best parts about going to a casino is arriving at the casino. You feel it instantaneously as the neon lights dance on your cheeks and the red carpet unravels itself in a straight fold to the money seats.

Make your guests feel welcome with a brightly painted casino sign. You can personalize the sign with your own name or keep it classy with something like villa casino.

Use colourful themed balloons to add to the effect. You can also make your guests feel special with a diy red carpet affair, which can be made with some red paint and cardboard boxes.

Jazz it up

Even though casino lounges usually sound like a mixture of lights and coins set on a round trip to the moon, it’s easy to accomplish the casino lounge feel at home. You can make diy casino decorations such as posters and playing cards from minimal items such as cardboard and paper.

If you’re struggling to bring out your inner artist for the perfect homemade casino decorations, you can always have playing cards and posters printed at your local printing shop. Paste the print outs on cardboard and drape netting from windows for a more intimate effect.

Create an authentic experience

Traditional casino games and online black jack options are always a winner for conventional casino parties. The games that you offer along with your casino decorations create an authentic casino experience. If you are in a budget or even if you have just decided to wing it and create homemade casino decorations for the fun of it, there are a number of alternative games to compliment your diy casino night.

Bingo is a game in which players try to match randomly selected numbers to the numbers on their card. The card consists of a 5×5 matrix where each column is represented by the letters B-I-N-G-O. The middle square is typically a free square. The first person to form a specific pattern (usually a straight line) calls out “bingo!”. The card gets checked for accuracy and the winner is announced. Then a new round begins.

In baccarat each player has three options: player, tie, and banker. When all players have placed their bets, the dealer deals out two 2-card hands, one is the banker hand while the other is the player hand. The hands are added up. If a hand totals over ten, the ten is dropped (I.E. 9+5=14=4). A hand equaled to 10 becomes a 0 or baccarat. The winning hand would be the higher of the 2 and anyone who placed a corresponding bet wins.

8. Wheel of fortune (the big six)

Homemade casino games

This game is played by placing your bet on one of 6 symbols on the game table. Then the wheel is spun. The wheel is divided into 52 equal sections that are separated by pins around the edge. When the wheel comes to a stop, the pointer will be between two pins. All bets placed on the symbol the wheel stops on, win.

Keno is a lottery game. The player get a card numbered 1 to 80. The player then picks up to 20 numbers and a wager. The card is then registered and the game begins. The caller announces 20 randomly drawn numbers. The player tries to match as many called numbers to their selected numbers. The more numbers matched the higher the winnings paid against their wager.

Homemade casino games

Pai gow poker is played against the house instead of the other players. The dealer deals out 7 cards to each player and himself in rotation. Everyone then looks at their cards and tries to make the best 5-card and 2-card poker hands. The 5-card hand must rank higher than the 2-card hand. The hands are then compared against the dealers. If both hands beat the dealer, the player wins. If both lose, the player loses. If both the dealer and the player win on a hand, it is a push.

Casino party games

The game girl can answer your questions now!

Hosting a casino party and need to know what games to play or how to turn your casino party into a contest? Casino games are games in themselves, but if you want to add to the excitement here are some other game ideas.

Ingredients

  • Just add guests! ™

to play

  • Before the games start, announce that prizes will be awarded to those who have the highest chip counts.

  • At the end of the night count out everyone’s chips.

  • The person with the most chips wins the big prize. Award prizes for second and third as well.

Traditional casino games
here are a few traditional vegas games. Raise the stakes and award your guests prizes when they win.

Texas hold em’
at the start of the game, two players to the left of the dealer put out blind bets. Usually the "first blind" (the player to the left of the dealer) puts up half the minimum bet, and the "second blind" puts up the full minimum bet.

Each player is dealt two cards, face down. These are known as hole cards.A round of betting takes place (clockwise), beginning with the player to the left of the second blind. Each player can call, raise, or fold when it's their turn to bet.

The dealer then flips the next three cards face up on the table. These cards are called the "flop", and are are community cards in that everyone can use them in combination with their own hole cards to make their hand.

Betting begins again with the player to the dealer’s left. The dealer plays another card face up onto the table. This fourth community card is called the "turn" or "fourth street." betting begins again with the player to the dealer’s left. The dealer plays the final community card, the "river" or "fifth street."

Players use any combination of seven cards to form the best possible five-card poker hand. The final round of betting occurs, starting with the player left of the dealer. All players who remain in the game (if you didn't fold) reveal their hands. The player with the best 5 card poker hand wins.

Black jack
blackjack is a counting game. Each of the numeric cards are valued at the number of the card (2, 3, 4. Etc). Face cards (jack, queen, and king) and 10's are worth 10. Aces can be used by the player as either one or eleven, whichever is best for their hand.

The ideas is to accumulate cards with a total value as close as possible to twenty-one without going over. A player wins if his hand is closer to twenty-one than the dealer's hand, or if the dealer goes over 21, which is called busting. Players can take as many cards as they wish from the dealer until they stand (stop taking cards) or bust (the hand goes over twenty-one).

If a player busts, he automatically loses the hand, even if the dealer busts. A player also loses if the dealer's hand is closer to twenty-one. If the player's hand and the dealer's tie (and do not bust) it is called a "push" and no money is won or lost.

If the initial two cards of a player's hand or the dealer's hand add up to exactly twenty-one (like an ace and a queen) that is called blackjack. A blackjack beats any other hand, even if the other hand adds to twenty-one. Additionally, if a player is dealt a blackjack and the dealer is not, then the dealer has to pay the player 1.5 times his original bet (if player bet $10, the dealer pays him $15).

At the start of each hand the dealer starts by dealing two cards to each player and to himself. One on the dealer's first two cards is dealt face up. The players' cards are either dealt all face up or all face down.

Then the players have a choice, starting with the player to the right of the dealer:

  • Hit - the player wants another card from the deal, which is then dealt.

  • Stand - the player does not want any more cards for this hand.

  • Split - if the player is dealt two initial cards having equal value (two 7's), the player can choose to split those cards into two separate hands and play them individually. This also requires that the player match his original bet by making an equal bet on the newly created 2nd hand.

  • Double down - after receiving the two initial cards, the player can double his original bet on the hand, and the dealer gives him exactly one additional card (for a total of three cards). The player cannot take any more cards after that.

  • Surrender - if the player is dealt the two initial cards, hasn't split them, and concludes the chances of winning are low, he can concede the hand and only lose half of the original bet.

These five choices are the only ones available to the player. The player can continue to hit additional cards on the hand until he stands or busts. At that point, the play of the hand moves to the next player to the dealer's right.
