Quechan sleepy hollow RV park is a combination RV and long term stay mobile home park. It isn't too clean but if you are going to algodones for dental work etc. It's a great place to stay. It is right next to the quechan parking lot at the border. You can walk to the border crossing from the park but if you buy much it's easier to pay the $5.00 to park in the lot. The quechan casino is less then a half mile north at the freeway exit.Their daily charge is outrageous at $50.00 a night but if you are going to be there for a week it's $150.00 making it very reasonable. If you are planning on dental work plan for a week to give yourself recovery time.
They have 50 amp service and full hook-ups on most sites. There is a very nice dump station for those sites without sewer. They do have dry camping also but I don't remember the price. There is wi fi available for free and pets are welcome with the usual stipulations. There are showers and laundry facilities on site as well as a not very clean TV and library area at the office. They do have security at night. Most of the sites a in the full sun without shade trees but there are a few with some shade if you are lucky enough to get one. We have left chairs and tables out side and have never had anything missing so we feel secure there though it might not look like a secure place.

Turn off the I-8 at the mexican border crossing andrade exit. Go south about a mile. You will pass the park exit sign but continue on the entrance which is right next to the quechan parking lot. Make a hard right and continue to the stop for registration sign the office is in the large metal building.

One of my friends, maryann, who I met and worked with in kentucky at amazon needed to have some body work done on her RV. She had made arrangements to have it done for a reasonable price in algodones. Maryann asked me if I’d go with her across the border and so I gladly agreed as did our mutual friend debbie. The three of us parked our respective motorhomes in the quechan casino parking lot, which is only 2 miles from the border, for a couple of nights. The rate per night with no hookups whatsoever is $10 or 3 nights for $25.
The three of us hopped into maryann’s RV early in the morning and she drove it across the border. We had to show our passports and fill out forms while the mexican border agent checked his computer to make sure we weren’t on any “do not allow into mexico” list. The young mexican body shop owner’s wife met us in town and we followed her to the place where the work was to be done. She then drove us back into town where we spent the day shopping, having lunch, getting my glasses fixed and hanging out at the paradiso outdoor restaurant and bar with its live music.
After the motorhome was repaired, we drove it back across the border to the quechan for the second night. We did go into the casino and had a pretty good supper at the café. The food prices and quality were good. I would recommend anyone going into algodones for dental work or to see an optometrist or to pick up medications to boondock at this location. Parking for the day down the road just outside the gate runs $6 for the day or you can park a little further away along the road and not pay anything. Both options are good and I’ve done both with no problems. We then said our goodbyes’ and maryann took off to illinois while debbie and I caravanned towards san diego.

This is a great place for free camping. Plenty of room, no hassles. The problem I ran into is I use T-mobile cell service and I could only get one bar. The cellular reception was so low that I had to move to a new location, so I drove up one more exit and parked at pilot knob.

Pulled in just to spend the night because further west on the 8 the winds where very high. Dirt parking lot, but wednesday through sunday you can eat at the casino.

I camped in my mini-van for one night here. It was far quieter than I expected. I didn't hear people running any generators till in the morning after I had gotten up. The trucks were also pretty quiet and I was close to the entry driveway. I got up early and got to the quechan parking lot in time to get a very good parking place for go. More

This casino is right off interstate 8 in winterhaven, CA. Closer to AZ than california though. We haven't stayed in too many casino locations but this one seems pretty nice. It is very close to los algodones so if you are having any 'work' done down there it is close and free to stay here. We stayed a couple of extra days because it is. More

It is very close to los algodones so if you are having any 'work' done down there it is close and free to stay here. We stayed a couple of extra days because it is close to downtown yuma, AZ for supplies and sightseeing. We had planned to be at imperial dam LTVA but it is a 25-30 mile drive over rough asphalt to get to yuma. We found it easier on the gas budget to stay here.
We did go and have dinner at the casino one night. They have weekend specials but we were here during the week. Typical casino restaurants a small diner like, a mid level restaurant, and a "high end" steakhouse. We ate in the mid level, service was poor but food was good and price was good..
There weren't too many generators running around 9:00 PM when we went to sleep but I had to use the blackout curtains to keep the casino parking lot lights out.
Wi fi - non existent.
Verizon - 1 bar and slow but workable. (imperial dam had 3 bars and fast).
T-mobile - 3 bars and pretty quick.
It seems like you can stay here for a long time but there are no dump stations or water. Also tribal land is available both south and north of the casino. Just like BLM land you need to register at either the quechan casino or the paradise casino to stay.

We have visited this casino twice. The first time was on a wednesday to get their player’s card. We were given an extra $10 of free play with the card. It’s a wednesday special I believe.
Based on prior reviews, parked in dirt lot and went to get players club to get card. They knew nothing about having to check in for RV parking but took us to security office to verify. Person in charge of security called someone and came back saying there is no charge. One of them thought they tried a deal where you could earn the $5 back by putting points on your card. Security did explain no dumping, etc. And park at our risk. No problem. Buffet pretty good given it was almost closing time. Only complaint, dirt lot has sign saying RV parking to left and trucks to right casino 888 blackjack, but trucks were spacing out well into RV area. Another rver was real unhappy with their noise (I understand why they need to run all night all zombie movies, but the casino tried to mitigate with separate parking areas.) it was hot (mid-september) so few rvers. I wouldn't be surprised if some kind of fee might start when snowbirds return and lot fills up.

Dry camping is permitted in the RV parking lot. This lot is standard desert dirt and is just fine most of the time. In a rain, I would avoid this lot – something to do with sticky mud! No wifi the last time we were there in february 2010.
Even though the RV overnight parking area was packed, it is huge and could accommodate even more rvs. We were told parking is limited to three nights. However, one fella indicated he would be there four nights because he didn’t believe they checked. Upon arrival you need to check in at the casino. It’s a great location just off the I-8 freeway west of yuma.
On friday we returned for the seafood buffet. I love seafood and have eaten at many of these buffets at casinos. How does this one rate on a scale of 1 to 10? It rates as a 10! Considering that this casino has only been opened for one year norsk tipping casino tunica, it has quite a following. The line was the longest we had seen for the buffet. We stood in line for over an hour then stood in line again once inside the restaurant for the food line.
